What was checked, and what was not
Verified against United's published seat map and interior specification table. Seat count checks out at 166: 16 United First, 54 Economy Plus, 96 Economy.
ROW NUMBERING IS NOT CONTIGUOUS. United skips 5, 6, 9, 13, 16, 17, 18, 19 and 33. Economy Plus is nine real rows spanning the numbers 7 to 21, and Economy is sixteen real rows spanning 22 to 38. That is why the published seat-number ranges of 7A-21F and 22A-38F do not multiply out to the published seat counts.
UNLIKE THE LUFTHANSA CHART, THIS MAP IS SCHEMATIC RATHER THAN TO SCALE: skipped row numbers get no physical gap in the drawing. So the geometry here is built from United's published pitch figures rather than measured off the drawing, which is the more accurate of the two.
PITCH DETAIL comes from United's Version 2 table, which breaks Economy Plus into rows 7 to 10 at 34 inches, rows 11 to 15 at 33 and row 20 at 38. Version 1's table gives only the 33 to 34 range. Applying the Version 2 breakdown is safe because the two versions share an identical Economy Plus and Economy cabin: same seat numbers, same counts, same exit rows and the same zero-recline rows.
SEAT WIDTH: United publishes a range of 16.6 to 17.8 inches for Economy without saying which rows are narrower, so every economy seat is recorded at 17.8 and no row carries the narrow flag.
A SECOND VARIANT EXISTS. United flies a Version 2 of this aircraft with 164 seats: United First 14 at seats 1A-3F plus 4E and 4F, with 3A and 3B at 57 inches of pitch and no power at those two seats. Economy Plus and Economy are unchanged. Version 2 needs its own configuration file, but United publishes no seat map for it on this page, only the specification table, so it is not authored here. Section 4 of the brief requires both variants in the database before flight lookup can ask a traveller which one they are on.
