- British Airways published seat map, Boeing 777-300 · retrieved 18 September 2026
Every row, column letter, missing seat, door, lavatory and galley below was read off this chart. Row pitch was derived from the chart's own scale, calibrated on the World Traveller cabin at 31 inches.
- British Airways fleet facts, Boeing 777-300 · retrieved 18 September 2026
Confirms a fleet of 16, the four cabin names, length 73.9m and wingspan 64.8m. Its 'up to 297 (4 class)' capacity figure does not describe this layout; see the notes.
What was checked, and what was not
Verified against British Airways' published seat map, read seat by seat at a legible resolution. The total is 256: 8 First, 76 Club World, 40 World Traveller Plus, 132 World Traveller.
THIS SETTLED A THREE-WAY DISAGREEMENT. Reporting gave both 256 seats with 132 in World Traveller and 254 with 130, while British Airways' own fleet page gives 'up to 297 (4 class)'. Counting the chart gives 256, so 254 is wrong and the 297 figure describes the pre-Club-Suite layout, whose 2-4-2 business cabin was far denser.
THE CLUB SUITE CABIN IS STAGGERED, which is why 76 is not a round multiple. The window columns A and K sit roughly half a pitch behind the centre pair E and F, and run one row shorter in each of the two rear cabins: the forward cabin is rows 5 to 7 complete, the main cabin has A and K to row 17 against E and F to row 18, and the aft cabin has A and K to row 23 against E and F to row 24. That is 12 plus 42 plus 22. The 23-against-24 boundary was confirmed directly from the chart.
ROW NUMBERING IS NOT CONTIGUOUS: 3, 4, 25 to 29 and 35 to 39 are unused. British Airways is not consistent about this across its fleet, so it cannot be inferred from their other aircraft. On the 777-200ER, World Traveller Plus runs 25 to 29 and World Traveller follows immediately at 30 with no gap at all. Every row number here was read rather than assumed.
THE TAIL TAPERS: World Traveller is 3-4-3 for rows 40 to 49 and drops the aisle seats C and H for rows 50 to 53, leaving 2-4-2. The same taper pattern appears on the 777-200ER, which corroborates it.
WHAT IS NOT FROM THE CHART, and should be replaced when a better source appears: seat widths are not printed on it, so the width figures are approximate and the drawing footprints are chosen to match the chart's proportions. Pitch is derived from the chart's own scale, calibrated on World Traveller at 31 inches; the resulting cabin runs about a tenth longer than the true 777-300ER cabin because the drawing includes nose and tail structure, so treat absolute deck length as indicative rather than exact. Wing rows are measured from the fuselage fairings on the drawing rather than from a marked wing box. The chart also marks wheelchair-accessible seats in the forward Club World cabin, which this schema has no flag for yet.
